How Nigerian film contents ranked among world’s best disclosed by -NFVCB boss

The Executive Director, National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Mr. Adedayo Thomas, just ranked the contents of Nigerian film as one of the best in terms of worthwhile in the film industry worldwide. Nollywood Keyamo gives cautions on Nigerians over alleged INEC video Thomas made this known in his speech during a two-day training of North East NFVCB staff on Tuesday in Bauchi. He said that foreign investors travelled into the country to seek contents for their movies, saying that most foreign movies had Nigerians as part of their team. Thomas also said that the industry propagated the largest employment in the country with an increasing cinemas number from 19 to 42 and screens from 20 to over 140 from 2017 till date, while more are being expected.

“The film industry propagates the largest jobs in Nigeria from the different positions in film setting to cameramen, sound lighting, amongst others,’’ he said.

The NFVCB boss said there were emerging technologies employed by stakeholders to get better on film contents and production, therefore, the need to meet up with such trends. Adebayo called on participants to wisely use the knowledge gained during the training to improve productivity among the organisation and a variety of departments. He warned against sale of unclassified and unlicensed films in the market, in his speech said  that anyone found wanting would be sanctioned accordingly.

Likewise, the board would also demeanour a sensitisation programme for 100 (Hundred) youths each in Bauchi and Darazo L.G.As on classifications of films on May 14 and 15.

 The theme of the workshop is: “Film and Video Works in the New Horizon”. The resource persons were drawn from the academia and film industry practitioners to train participants.
